Long Description for the Performance Management Model

FY 2005 Performance and Accountability Highlights
Bureau of Resource Management
November 2005
Report

The Department uses a seven level hierarchy of performance management categories of information. At the highest level is the Mission Statement, below which and providing increasingly more detail, are the Strategic Objectives, Strategic Goals, Performance Goals, Initiatives/Programs, Performance Indicators and Performance Targets. Planning is achieved by developing these categories from the highest level — the Mission Statement — down through all categories to the annual Performance Targets. Execution of the Department's planning activities is accomplished by achieving these categories from the lowest level of detail — the Performance Targets — up through all categories to the Mission Statement.
