Under Secretary McHale Remarks at Center for a New American Security

Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Judith McHale spoke today, June 11, 2009, at the Center for a New American Security’s third annual conference, “Striking a Balance: A New American Security”. The conference offered recommendations on how to strike a balance between immediate and long-term national security challenges facing the United States. Topics included Iraq, Afghanistan-Pakistan, National Security, North Korea, and combating violent extremism.

Under Secretary McHale’s remarks, entitled, Public Diplomacy: A National Security Imperative, highlighted the important role Public Diplomacy plays in the national security of the United States of America.
