Myrna Deckert currently serves on the MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Board of Texas, and the National Dance Institute of New Mexico Board of Directors and chairs the Global Campaign for the YWCA of the USA. Past Board service includes the Boards of Del Sol Medical Center, the Rotary Club, the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso and Chase Bank -- El Paso. Honors include: National YWCA Executive of the Year, Citizen of the year by the El Paso Times and the El Paso Inc.
Myrna served as Chief Executive, YWCA El Paso del Norte Region for 32 years; on the National Coordinating Board -- YWCA of the USA and chaired the Change Initiative - the first organizational change of the National YWCA in 95 years; and has trained numerous YWCA Executives throughout the USA. Currently, Myrna serves as President/Chief Operating Officer of The Paso del Norte Group, a group of business and civic leaders with the mission to promote the economic, social and cultural vitality of the Region. Myrna and her husband live in El Paso Texas.
