Open Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET (except holidays). The OBC also operates extended hours on select Thursday evenings and Saturdays throughout the year.
Access to the Overseas Briefing Center
Any person enrolled in training at NFATC will receive a Foreign Service Institute (FSI) access badge.
Individuals without a Department of State or FSI access badge (such as family members) will be admitted to FSI's Overseas Briefing Center with a photo ID during regular weekday hours (8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). To be admitted, individuals without a Department of State or Shultz Center badge who wish to visit OBC should call the preceding day before noon to have their name(s) placed on the visitor list. Persons who consider same-day visits to the Overseas Briefing Center must call ahead to determine if there will be a staff member to clear them upon arrival, as availability of staff is not guaranteed. After Hours Access to the OBC
